Ancillary Task: Magazine Advert Design
Following the research we did back in December, we've been able to come up with a design for the magazine advert. The colour scheme will be the same as the animation part of the music video (discoloured white) with the images of the animation providing the rest of the colour scheme. The themes that other bands followed (namely Arcade Fire and Bullet For My Valentine) were a continuing theme throughout; in the magazine advert, music video and CD cover. Therefore, this is something which we are looking to implement, and the colour scheme is one aspect of this. Also, we have included the images which we used for the animation (e.g. the bird and hands) in the design of the magazine advert, as this acts as an ident, and increases the product identification. This approach (taking shots from the video and using them in other forms of promotion, e.g. the magazine advert or CD cover) is also used by The Maccabees, who are prominent in the folk/indie genre.
